A Special General Meeting
...of the Club was held at The Town Hall, Reading, on Dec.22nd,
1909.
Present. Major Portal (in the Chair)
Messrs Fred Blandy, Messrs Dodd, Harrison, Potter, Joy, Ouvry, à
Court, Blatch, Shrapnell Smith, Arthur Sutton & Secretan.
The minutes of the last General Meeting were read, confirmed &
signed.
The notice convening the Meeting was read (see opposite page)
The Chairman reported the result of the Postal Vote of Members
regarding affiliation or otherwise to a central organization.
This was as follows -
For affiliation to the R.A.C. 54
For affiliation to the M.U. 16
For affiliation to neither 18
The Chairman said in view of these figures the Committee recommended
affiliation to the R.A.C.
Mr.S à Court moved that he Club become affiliated to the R.A.C.
on the terms set forth in that Club regulations as published in its
hand book.
Mr R.H.C. Harrison seconded, & the motion was carried.
Mr.Shrapnell Smith informed that the title of the Club be altered to
"The Berkshire Automobile & Aero Club" & that it be left to the
Committee to settle any matter concerning affiliation.
Rev. J.D.Ouvry seconded, & the motion was carried.
