The Seventh Annual General Meeting
...was held at the Gt. Western Hotel, Reading on Sat.
May 13th, 1911.
Mr Portal occupied the Chair. There were also present -
Mr shrapnell Smith, Dr. Paterson, Mr Potter, Mr Ouvry, Sir Gilbert
Clayton East, & Dr. Secretan.
(1). The Minutes of the last Annual General Meeting were read &
confirmed.
(2). The Report & Audited statement of Accounts for the year 1910
were submittted, & then adoption moved by the Chairman &
recorded by Mr Ouvry. This was agreed to unanimously.
(3). The following nominations to the committee (the only ones
received) were announced - Sir Gilbert Clayton East, Major Nash, &
Mr R.H.C.Harrison. THese gentlemen were declared duly elected.
(4). The following fixtures for the season were agreed upon pro tem -
JUly 29th. Inter Club Meeting at Brooklands; Sept. 27th, Meet &
Gymckana at Hall Place by kind invititation of Sir Gilbert East. Other
fixtures to be announced later.
(5). The Hon. Treasurer submitted his budget for 1911 as below -

(6). Col.Cromptons Report was then discussed. Sir Gilbert Clayton East
severly criticized this. He pointed out that it contained many
inaccuracies; that though applauding the action of the County Council,
it gave no adequate reasons for their neglect of the these roads which
did not come under the reconstruction scheme; & throughout
represented the views of the County Surveyor with whom Col. Crompton
had collaborated. He much regretted that the Report had not been made
independently without consultation with the County Survveyor. The
Chairman agreed with him in this particular.
Various types of "reflex lights" were on exhibition at the Meeting. The
Chairman pointed out the great advantages of these simple devices for
slow moving vehicles on the grounds of economy, simplicity & safety.
