BERKSHIRE AUTOMOBILE
CLUB
The 27th Annual General Meeting was held at the Great
Western Hotel, Reading at 12 noon on Saturday May 7th, 1932.
1. Present: Major E.R.Portal (in the Chair). Mr S. à Court, Dr
Secretan, Col Nash, Miss Noble, Mr Palmer, Mrs Loder Symonds, Mrs
Churcher, Mrs Uniacke.
2. The secretary read the Notice calling the Meeting. The minutes were
read, confirmed and agreed.
3. The Chairman explained the accounts already circulated to members,
which showed a balance credit of £13.6.9 - after paying out
£26 on the Driving Test which was carried out in July. Proposed
by Col. Nash seconded by Mrs Palmer that the accounts be passed.
Carried unanimously.
4. Col. Nash signified his wish to retire from the Committee. Mrs Loder
Symonds was elected. Mrs Churcher proposed and Mrs Uniacke seconded
that the remainder of the Committee be elected en bloc. Carried
unanimously.
5. The Hon. Sec. pointed out that the Club were no longer covered by
Insurance for any claims for Free Legal Defence in case of Police
prosecution. After some discussion the Hon. Sec. was instructed
to endeavour to arrange for cover at the rate of 6d per head fro 12
months as previously through Messrs Hndley & Dodd. Dr Secretan
proposed that this notice should be withdrawn in future from Annual
Report.
The matter was left undecided.
6. A letter from Lt. Col. Sir Leslie Wilson resigning
his position as Chairman was read. It was decided that for [?] Sir [?]
Knox be asked to accept the position, or failing him, the Countess
Roberts.

7. The Chairman left the chair and Col. Mark proposed
and Mrs Palmer seconded that Major Portal be re-elected Chairman.
Carried unanimously.
