BERKSHIRE AUTOMOBILE
CLUB
The 26th Annual General Meeting was held at the Great
Western Hotel, Reading at 12 noon on Saturday May 30th, 1931.
1. Present: Major E.R.Portal in the Chair. Miss Noble, Dr W.B.Secretan,
Col Nash, S. à Court, C.C.F.Glennie, Mrs B. Churcher.
2. The secretary read the notice calling the Meeting. The minutes were
read, confirmed and agreed.
3. The Chairman explained the accounts already circulated to members,
pointed out that there was again a surplus balance on the year of
£26.16.1 and that the finances of the Club were very satisfactory.
Proposed bby Col. Nash seconded by Dr. Secretan that the accounts be
passed. Carried unanimously.
4. Three members of the Committee signified their wish to retire. Capt.
O.J. Llewelly, Maj.Gen. Sir W.Cayley Mr A.D.Selkirk.
The following were proposed and elected. Lt.Col. Ovey, Col. Nash, Mrs
E. Palmer.
Mr Glennie proposed & Mrs Churcher seconded that the remainder of
the Committee be elected en bloc. Carried unanimously.
5. The Hon. Secretary stated that with the hlep nof the R.A.C. he could
arrange a Drivers Test Competition. Proposed by Major Portal seconded
by Dr. Secretan that a Test should be arranged and that the sum of
£25 could be spent on same arrangements to be left in the hands
of the Hon. Sec. Carried unanimously.
Proposed by Mr Glennie seconded by Miss Noble that members be asked at
the same time whether they would like a Tennis Tournament arranged -
arrangements to be left to Hon. Sec.
6. Major Portal proposed, S. à Court seconded a vote of thanks
to the Hon. Auditor Mr R. W. Handley, his re-election being confirmed.
7. The Chairman left the chair. Mr S. à Court proposed, Miss
Noble seconded his re-election. Carried unanimously.
