BERKSHIRE AUTOMOBILE CLUB

The Twenty-second Annual General Meeting of the Club was held on May 28th, 1927 at 12:15 at the Great Western Hotel, Reading.

Present: Major Portal in the Chair, Lord Downshire, Major General Sir Walter Cayley, Capt. Vallange, Mr S.E. Shrapnell-Smith, Dr. Secretan, Mr à Court, Mr Wiggett, Mrs Bryan Churcher, Miss Lowry, Miss Burkinshaw & the Hon. Sec. -

1. The Chairman read the notice calling the meeting. The Minutes were read, confirmed & signed.

2. Regrets for non-attendance were received from Mr A.D. Selkirk and Mr. O.J. Llewellyn.

3. Mr Shrapnell-Smith presented the accounts for 1926 already circulated to members, showing a balance of £23-17-6 which result, he stated, was most satisfactory. Proposed by Mr. Shrapnell-Smith seconded Mr à Court & carried.

4. The Chairman spoke on the Report for the past year, he stated the Club was in a good financial condition. He thanked Miss Lowry very much for relieving the Hon. Sec. of the arduous task of making the arrangements for the Regatta. The Chairman then proposed the Report should be accepted - seconded Mr à Court and carried unanimously.

5. The Chairman submitted the Budget for the present year. He estimated the Expenditure at £222 & Income £236-0-0 leaving a balance on the year of £14-0-0. Proposed by the Chairman, seconded Mr Shrapnell-Smith. Carried.

6. The Meeting confirmed the appointment of Miss Lowry to committee & thanked her for the assistance she was giving the Hon. Sec.

7. Proposed by Mr Wiggett, seconded by Mrs Bryan Churcher the committee was re-elected on Bloc.

8. The Chairman proposed & Lord Downshire seconded that Sir Walter Cayley should join the committee. Carried unanimously.

A very hearty vote of thanks was given to the Chairman. Proposed Lord Downshire. Seconded Sir Walter Cayley. Carried unanimously.
